Answer: At eighteen months, she would be young to be developmentally ready to start toilet training. Generally around the age of 2 years is ideal for toilet training because of the language and nervous system development. She may just be taking her nappy off because she can, rather than as a sign she is ready to use the toilet on her own. You could try regularly sitting her on the toilet and after meals, taking her to the toilet with you and showing her what's involved and providing a potty/or toilet seat and step for her. But honestly, it's not worth pushing her to get into the habit of using the toilet at this young age. When the weather is warmer and there will be less layers of clothing for her to deal with would be an ideal time. Cheers Jane
