Booking c-section 2morow. What questions should I ask?? Lock Rss

Hi Ds&alien,

heres a few might you might consider:

- What kind of pain management will you be offered after?

- Can baby be in recovery with you after?

- Can DH stay with you overnight? (if thats what you would like)

- What happens if you go into labour before the scheduled date?
Your first question makes me think you don't actually want a c/s?? If that's the case the only questions you need to be asking are "what support can I expect to vbac?" and "what is the dr/hospital vbac success rate?". If you're making a list of things to discuss then they will need to know how much monitoring you'd be comfortable with, whether or not you're willing to adhere to date limits and time limits while in labour.
just wanted to add that it's possible to birth big babies naturally if you want too, my dd was 10 pounds (4.5 kilos) don't let people scare you into believing that you need a c-sect.

The day i broke up with normal was the first day of my magical life...

Not a question per se but, I highly recommend asking them for a stool softener or laxative if you get put on anything with codeine in it. I couldn't take the "stronger" drugs as they made me hallucinate so was on Panadeine Forte for a week after my made me really, really, painfully constipated (sorry if that's too much info) but, I wouldn't want anyone suffering the way I did!

Good luck!
