Hi, i havent had a c-section myself but my friend had one a month ago, it was elective and in a public hospital. It was her 3rd elective c-section.

The public hospital was great, she had no complaints. She recovered very quickly, not sure if it was better this time round because it wasnt her first or not though. They trialled her on a new pain relief where she can press a button and administer it to herself (it was on trial in this hospital anyway). It made her feel quite queasy, but then she thought that might have been from not been able to eat for so long too.
The midwives were great, encouraged breastfeeding as soon as possible after she was out in recovery, were on the ball with checking her pee bag (sorry not sure what the proper name is for it), they were very helpful.

I wish you the best
