I was searching through the many poems I have and thought I would start this post where we can share our poems.

There will come a day when your tears of sorrow will softly flow into tears of remembrance...
and your heart will begin to heal itself...
and grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy...
and you will hear the whisper of hope.

There will come a day when you will welcome the tears of remembrance...
as a sun shower of the soul...
a turning of the tide...
a promise of peace.

There will come a day when you will risk loving...
go on believing...and treasure the tears of remembering.

Together we mourn
Together they play

Together we hope
Together they know

Together we cry
Together they comfort

Together we laugh
Together they smile

Together we die
Together they wait

May we help each other along this long and hard journey, and may our angels know that we love them… Together

We are connecated my Mum and I
By an invisible cord not seen by the eye
It's not like the cord that connects us 'til birth
This cord can't be seen by anyone on earth
This cord does it's work right from the start
It binds us together, attached to my heart
I know that it's there though no-one can see
the invisible cord from my Mum to me
The strength of this cord is hard to describe
It can't be destroyed, it can't be denied
It's stronger than any cord man can create
It withstands the test, can hold any weight
And though you are gone and not here with me
The cord is still there that no-one can see
It pulls at my heart, I am bruised, I am sore
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before
I am thankful that we are connected this way
A mother and child
....death can't take it away

I Will
I will never sing you lullabies
Or tuck you in at night

I will never kiss a boo-boo
Or soothe you from a fright.

I will never read you stories
Or hear you sing a song

I will never put your toys away
Or teach you right from wrong.

I will never hear you laugh
Or ever see you smile.

I will never tickle you
Or just hold you for awhile.

I will never teach you letters
Or help you with your math

I will never play in a pool
Or get soaked in a bath.

I will never make you breakfast
Or prepare for you a snack.

I will never ever hug you
Or ever get hugged back.

I will never braid your hair
Or help you to get dressed

I will never tie your shoe
Or tell you how I'm blessed.

I will never play a game of tag
Or hide and go seek

I will never comfort when you're sick
Or hold you when you're weak.

All these things I'll never do
And it will hurt until forever

But you ask will I forget you?
And I'll tell you I will never

I couldn't stay for very long,
God needed me to come back home,
but I left my footprints deep in your heart,
so we'll never be very far apart...

The I will Poem is just beautiful - heart wrenching and sad, but beautiful.

Please, don’t ask me if I’m over it yet.
I’ll never be over it.
Please, don’t tell me she is in a better place.
She isn’t here with me.
Please, don’t say at least she isn’t suffering.
I haven’t come to terms with why she had to suffer at all.
Please, don’t tell me you know how I feel……
unless you have lost a child of your own.
Please, don’t ask me if I feel better.
Bereavement isn’t a condition that clears up or goes away.
Please, don’t tell me at least you had her for a little while.
When would you choose for your child to die?
Please, don’t tell me that God never gives us more than we can bear.
Please, just say that you are sorry.
Please, just say that you remember my child if you do.
Please, just let me talk about her.
Please, mention her name.
Please, let me cry.

I wrote this poem for my beautiful daughter Hollee, I have since lost my son Hayden too.

Holle my darling, I miss you everyday.
All my love, thoughts and dreams for you will never go away.
My eyes well-up with tears for you,
But I know I must stay strong,
For you will always be my daugher and my life must carry on.
I long to touch your soft skin & smell your gorgeous brown hair.
I long to hear you call me "Mummy", why is life so unfair?
I wish you could have stayed with me,
but God had other plans.
I will never understand why,
but until I am with you again my sweetheart,
Stay in Gods safe hands.

Our time together was so short
But our touch was enduring,
The love you gave me was enough
To last any lifetime, such was our bond.

Your special gift to me, Mum and Dad
Was the love you showed me,
As you waited for me,
And the way you held me when i came.

My special gift to you was the strenthening
Of your love for each other
The tears you cry now are meant to flow
I am yours.

When you feel sad remember these words
Love and be Joyful,

With so many others like me

This is a poem we read a couple of weeks ago at our sons funeral:

“Just For A Moment”
(From A Silent Love, Adrienne Ryan)
Our hands have touched, our paths have crossed
A love is gained, a love is lost
Just for a moment I kissed the face
Of an innocent child I can’t replace.

Just for a moment a maternal touch
Would say the words that meant do much
A soft caress, the gentle tears
That will make those minutes last for years.

Just for a moment, I held your hand
My broken heart in your command
So much to tell you, so little time
Why were you punished, what was the crime?

They took part of me when they took you away
As much as I love you, you weren’t meant to stay
I gave you a hug that for always must last
As facing the future means leaving the past.

Our souls have merged, I live for you
Perhaps I’m living your life too
I will carry on, I can always stand tall
Because just for that moment, I had it all.
